Our Trip to England

Background

We wanted to get out of the country before we had kids. (Temporarily, of course!) So we used our 1st anniversary as our excuse to do so. We picked England because we didn't want to learn a foreign language. We picked 3 cities, London, Bath, and Oxford: London because you just can't avoid it; Bath because it was supposed to be pretty, and it was the setting in some Jane Austen books which I liked; and Oxford because we are Tolkien fans (and we just like school!). We spent 2 days in each city, then one last day in London before we left. Colin and April Smith gave us extremely helpful advice in planning what to do, and although we didn't do a LOT of planning before we left, we did barely enough. :)
